Football Fever!
31 May 2011
There is one topic of discussion that has overtaken every other throughout Swansea. Discussions about the weather, summer holidays and the X Factor have all been relegated and the future of Swansea as a premiership team has become one hot topic.
For seasoned fans Monday was a day to remember. For the 40,000 fans sitting in the gigantic Wembley stadium when the Swans walked out onto the pitch, the feeling must have been indescribable, a story to talk about for years to come.
For the younger generations, wide eyed, excited and faces painted Monday was the beginning of a story; a tale of a lifelong loyalty to Swansea City FC. Every Saturday morning 30 young football wannabe’s get involved at the LC’s Kid’s Football Club. As well as learning new skills and techniques, coach James Bartholomew, encourages the group to learn about football in different countries and has fun with crazy hair competitions. There is little doubt that the group will all be wearing their Swan’s kit in support of their idols for a good while to come. Click here to find out more.
As for the non-sporting fans among it is hard not to get excited just because everyone else is! All the staff at the LC are talking about it, gym instructors, spa therapists and office staff alike. Brendan Rogers even popped in this week before heading down to Wembley! Check out the pictures here.
For Wales’s second city there were many reasons to unite in support for the Swans on Monday. If 11 men in black and white, playing their hearts out can get a whole city talking we can only imagine what will happen next, now that Swansea has taken their well earned position in the Premiership.
Congratulations to the Swans!
