Help us Celebrate

2012 Coming Soon!

This year Wales' National Children's Day took place on Saturday 15th October.

It was a great family day out where you could climb, surf and play throughout the day. You could even watch a magic show as well as a creepy crawly display from Plantasia! Plus take part in drama and dance activities and meet a giant welsh dragon! It was great!

Last year's Wales National Children's Day took place on Saturday 9th October and was a huge success, just like this years!

We want to give a big thank you to all our partners who helped us provide a great family day out again this year.

Watch this space to find out how much you helped raise for Ty Hafan Family Hospice for Young Lives!

Over 50 countries across the world, including New Zealand, America, Thailand and India have a National Children's Day however a day to officially recognise our children and the contribution that they make to society did not exist in Wales or even the UK.image 7

The LC, Swansea's premier leisure complex and waterpark in 2009 launched Wales’ 1st ever National Children’s Day in order to acknowledge the value of children and to encourage parents to see the importance of giving them love, protection and respect, and spending quality time together. This year saw families of Swansea helping us celebrate by coming down to the LC for an all inclusive day out! Activities included all the usual LC fun plus The Osprey's Inflatable Village; a Creepy Crawly display from Plantasia; face painting, Mad Science experiments; dance and drama work shops with Mark Jermin Stage School and loads more!

image 6By promoting healthy and happy children and strengthening families through the support of our local communities, we can keep children safe and well. We are urging all parents, families and communities to take time to celebrate children each year on this day.

"In a recent survey at the LC, 80% of children said they’d like to spend more time with their parents."

"Did you know that on average parents spend just 20 minutes a day with their children?"image 11

With the above facts in mind, we hope you will join us next year to celebrate our young ones in Wales all over again.

Watch this space for National Children's Day 2012!

Remember this is your chance to spend some quality time with the kids and make memories of your own that will last a lifetime...
